Omar Noorzai brings over 25 years of professional experience to UCLA in implementing business transformational capabilities across multiple functions. He has a solid track record of defining, building, implementing and optimizing transformational opportunities, and leading mission-critical intitiatives across organizations. Mr Noorzai is known for instituting long-term strategies and enterprise solutions for effective digital transformation and automation, as well as for enhancing data-driven insights to ensure operational excellence and cost effectiveness.
As the Executive Director of the Business Transformation Office (BTO), Mr. Noorzai oversees and directs project teams that plan, design, develop, migrate and maintain new platforms that enable business transformational capabilities across UCLA. These mission-critical initiatives include HR and Payroll optimization, financial systems improvements, student information platform enhancements, and Faculty/Academic and learning management solutions. With a focus on scalability, operational efficiency, process re-engineering, project management and continuous improvement, Mr. Noorzai and his teams work to ensure alignment with the broader functional, business, and financial objectives of UCLA encompassing students, faculty and staff. Ultimately, these initiatives will provide faculty with the tools to adjust to rapidly changing educational environments; students with the solutions needed to optimize digital learning; and staff with the platforms, tools and data-driven insights to achieve operational excellence. Mr. Noorzai has positioned the BTO to drive innovative and sustainable solutions to ensure digital transformation and delivery of world-class education, research and community service.
Prior to establishing the BTO at UCLA, Mr. Noorzai served as Global Senior Director of HR Business Transformation and Operations at Western Digital. During his tenure, he drove the strategy, development, implementation and management of enterprise solutions and platforms, resulting in cross-functional business transformation and comprehensive, cost-effective, institution-wide solutions.
Mr. Noorzai holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Psychology from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from Duke University.
Serving as the Program Director for HR/Payroll and Student Information System Transformations, Mr. Fu manages and directs the planning, design, development, migration, cutover, and maintenance for the new systems which are designed to provide transformational changes to UCLA in the areas of business processes, improved efficiency, growth opportunities, and new capabilities to serve students, faculty and staff.
Prior to returning to work for his alma mater, Mr. Fu held a variety of leadership positions with Deloitte Consulting, 20th Century Fox, and Netflix. During his tenures, he delivered cost-effective solutions with process re-engineering, ERP/CRM implementations, Business Intelligence, and other technology enablers to solve actual business problems.
Mr. Fu holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Sciences from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Mr. Lee joins the Business Transformation Office (BTO) with more than 25 years of Information Technology and ERP implementation experience in Higher Education, Banking, Manufacturing, and Consulting sectors.
As Program Director, Mr. Lee oversees and directs strategic planning for design, development, migration, integration, rollout, and maintenance of the new SaaS financial systems. The new systems will transform business processes, improves efficiency and easy access to financial data, significantly enhances business intelligence, data analysis, and usability.
Prior to joining the BTO, Mr. Lee served as Director of Enterprise Applications at California State University, Los Angeles (CSU). During his tenure, he was the Program Director for the University’s ERP Program called Common Management System (CMS), which included Human Resources, Financials, and Student Information Systems.
Notably, Mr. Lee was responsible for the development of the highly successful student mobile app, GETmobile, which is one of the most utilized mobile apps of the CSU.
Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Pomona.
The BTO team is comprised of both UCLA staff members and contractors that support the various project efforts.
